Barely six months ago, we fêted the brand new opening of Rebag’s pop-up store in SoHo – the place to buy, sell, and authenticate your luxury handbags on the spot – adding convenience and instant gratification to shoppers’ experience. The legendary supermodel, Pat Cleveland, attended the opening party and her gaze was planted firmly on the wall of Birkins, among a bevvy of New York’s fashion and style-loving people.
The SoHo launch was exciting and the store will remain a permanent fixture in the neighborhood, but today, Rebag opens the doors of its brand new flagship on Madison Avenue, set amidst one of the most luxurious shopping destinations in the world. Additionally, Rebag Madison Avenue aims to bring together the digital experience of the company’s e-commerce platform with the brick-and-mortar experience. To do so, the company has combined it’s Trendlee website, where shoppers can buy pre-owned handbags, with rebag.com which was for selling. Together, the new website offers a one-stop shopping experience for consumers.
The new location with sits on the corner of 57th street, at 575 Madison Avenue, aims to buck the traditional brick-and-mortar experience, featuring the company’s signature pastel yellow colors and store exterior design prominently highlighting Rebag’s branding – all masterminded by the acclaimed marketing and advertising company, Red Antler. The store’s interior is designed by Waka Waka Studio, using handcrafted wooden fixtures, to create space, depth, and dimension. The “Rebag Bar,” where customers can bring their bags in for authentication, as well as receive payments, is also installed at the new Madison Avenue location. The company continues to offer it’s prepaid shipping labels nationwide, as well as its white glove service in Manhattan, for those who are unable to visit the store.
A rare and no doubt, highly covetable, crocodile Himalayan Birkin, is available at the new location. The ultra luxury handbag which is made from Nilo crocodile and underwent a painstaking dying process to evoke the look of the Himalayan Mountains is one of the most sought-after Birkins in the world, but is nearly unattainable, given the notorious selectivity of the fashion house of Hermès. The price of this Birkin easily surpasses $100,000 on both the primary and auction markets, but is available exclusively at Rebag Madison Avenue for a steal, at $70,000.
“We love to change people’s minds. With Rebag, our goal is to challenge the perception of the secondary marketplace while still making luxe accessible. The Madison Avenue store closely mirrors the brand’s rich online experience, and introduces inviting sensory features to immerse people into the world of Rebag. People will walk into this store thinking they likely can’t afford a beautiful designer bag. The magic is, with Rebag, they can,” says Charles Gorra, Founder and CEO of Rebag.
The company will celebrate it’s new flagship location with a party tomorrow evening.
