The London Rockers meet the London Mods. That is Fashion Designer, Katie Golinczak’s, inspiration behind her debut collection which will be presented tomorrow, at NYFW: Men’s, for her design label, SWONNE, deriving from “SW-1,” London’s post code where Golinczak grew up. So get on your motorcycles, this will be a clash that transcends generations.

Golinczak comes from 15 years of experience in her previous roles working with brands like Ralph Lauren, John Varvatos, and Levi’s.

We got a first-hand look at the collection on Friday, which features men’s essentials like hand-painted parkas, customized leather jackets, six types of denim jeans made with Japanese fabric, shirtings and selvedge indigos, providing stretch and comfort for peak performance, denim jackets, t-shirts with a hint of metallic, and dress shirts with her signature “feathers in motion” logo. Each piece speaks to the “contemporary, seasonless, essential denim designed for comfort, durability and timelessness” which are at the helm of her brand. It even creates an effortlessly cool look that any man, or woman, for that matter, can pull off all year long, in the day or night, rain or shine.

Golinczak and her husband, Adam, who is an architect and artist with experience in high-end luxury retail, collaborated on the pieces, to bring framed metallic foils with architectural drawings for one-of-a-kind looks.

SWONNE also prides itself on it’s incorporation of sustainable methods, and the collection includes Kurabo fabric from Japan where they feature eco-friendly dying and recycled yarn to attain zero emissions. This is a brand for the both  the now and the future. When asked what she is looking forward to for the highly anticipated collection that will feature the pieces suspended on sculptures made by Adam, and whiskey, of course (definitely count me in), she said, “just to see [it].” We are eager as well!

Golinczak works and resides in Brooklyn, New York, with her two daughters and husband, Adam.
